A proposal.
Five years in the making.
A house, magic trick and ring. A ring! A surprise.

I can't believe it. I'm so excited.
Waiting to get the ring adjusted, and then, I can wear it for life. It's perfect. Beautiful.
Feels natural and appropriate.

I'm surprisingly giddy and warmed. Blushing and giggling and shaking telling the story.
And a perfectly awesome story. Fun story. Our story!

Excited and happy. Thankful.

Getting ready to move.
Can't tell how much there is left to pack... everything cluttered and scattered. Just want to be there, feeling safe, and settled.

Can't believe we are going to be owning a house. Together, even.
Something to acknowledge our five years together, and in the same way, a commitment to the future. It's big. Really big.

Spent all this time imagining and planning in my head- layout, function, celebrations, how it's gonna work, how we're gonna like it, feeling safe, demolition, change, keeping things the same. Ideas just swimming around. Come Friday, we're going to be there, going to really know what it's like to live there. How those ideas fit into the actual walls.

Totally crazy.
Exciting and crazy.

Wish I had a guarantee. Proof that everything would be okay. Knowing we didn't have to be afraid or worried about anything. Just going to do our best. This is where we are meant to be. And things will happen as they are supposed to.

Here we go!

Wow.

Been a long time- looking at my inspiration page and it's from March 2005.. It's about packing, moving, a new apartment.. our first apartment. And now, the same things, only, our first house!

I wrote then: "Knowing we can make it anywhere, Knowing we can handle anything" Still true. Even on a larger scale,

Also mention Ikea, probably even a more dangerous word now than it was then.
I'm so excited! I can't wait to just be there- 22 days and counting!

Dogs are the best mirrors

They are living in the moment and in turn reflect how you are at that moment. I was having a crappy morning and what do I get from Amos? Crap. Okay, so that's not the best example. But this morning was a great reminder to me of how he is just reflecting what I send out. Even when I don't feel like talking about it. Being crabby and upset, walking with heavy feet and a frown. Impatient and restless. Snapping in response and using an angry voice.

In Amos' own way, he was telling me exactly how I was acting. And so getting mad at him for being impatient and snapping and aggressive didn't help either of us. So, note to self. When Amos is unhappy, I need to cheer up.

Not sure that I've completely cheered up, but I'm working on it. And now I've got a sweeter puppy at my feet, laying down for a nap. Time for me to breathe and re-group. Thank you, Amos.
